Welcome to the premiere issue of THE SIBLING
REVELRY NEWSLETTER! We've declared 2001
as the year of the sibling!
How we know? Not only is our book coming
out on July 10 but almost every issue of People Magazine
has a story about siblings! We are just beginning to get a
clear sense of the power of this movement as friends,
colleagues and others give us feedback about this crucial
primary network of relationships.
Exploration:
Father's day is coming up. What impact did your father have on your
sibling relationships. Take a few moments to remember him and your siblings.
Recall everything; battles and rivalries, fun times, tragic times, little and
big gifts
to each, shared moments and the way you managed to become family and forge the
connection you now have.
After this exploration would be a good time to consciously remember each
sibling, and consider how each brought shared experience, successes
and challenges for your growth. For some of you (you know who you are)
pick up damn the phone right now and say hello!
The gift
Still, the greatest compliment I can receive from a friend
(male or female) is: "you're my sister (brother), not just my
friend". Claiming sister-brotherhood is a badge of honor,
a relationship of distinction. We are passionate about the
possibilities of this connection - especially when consciousness,
caring and compassion are brought into the mix.
